How to substitute a class with another staff member

When a lesson is taught by someone other than the class teacher, you can track this with the substitute feature.

  • To track a substitute, they must be in the system as a staff member.

You can assign the substitute from the calendar or from the edit lesson page.


Assigning a Substitute from the Calendar

Step 1: Select "Calendar" from the main menu.

Step 2: Navigate to the lesson and select it.

Step 3: Select the substitute teacher from the drop-down in the pop-up message.

  • Your change will save automatically.
  • The list is divided into two groups, with staff members who teach on top and other staff members on the bottom.

Assigning a Substitute from the Edit Lesson Page Option 1:

Step 1: Select "Edit Lesson" from the pop-up message to go into the edit lesson page.


Assigning a Substitute from the Edit Lesson Page Option 2:

Step 1: Select "Classes" from the main menu.

Step 2: Select the class from the appropriate year and semester.

Step 3: Find the lesson from the list and select the pen icon to edit the lesson.

Step 4: Select the "Lessons" submenu.

Step 5: In the edit lesson page, you will see the "Substitute Teacher" drop-down.

Step 6: Select the "Substitute Teacher" drop-down to choose the substitute teacher.

Step 7: Select "Save" to save your changes.

  • Please note that the substituted lesson and substitute teacher will also be tracked in the Teacher Report.
