Class Scheduling Options
The class scheduling options are required when creating a new class for the first time, but these can also be changed later.
- If you want to change the entire class schedule after it has already been created, you will need to "regenerate" the lessons. This will erase all scheduled lessons that haven't taken place yet, and replace them with the correct scheduled lessons. For more information, see the related article "Regenerating lessons for the entire class".
- All of the lessons are automatically created for the entire date range of the semester based on the time and day entered.
- If you want to change the time, day or length of a single lesson, see the related article "Changing the time, day or length of a single lesson".
Lesson Length
- The length of each class and each lesson can be unique.
- You can set the default class length in the main menu Settings > Customize > "Default Class Length".
- Here in the class settings you can override the default class length.
Step 1: Enter the length in minutes for the lessons of this class.
Step 2: If the lessons meet at different times on different days, or if the lessons are of different lengths on different days Select the 'Toggle On' button to reveal the advanced scheduler to reveal more options.
Days of the Week
Select the days of the week when the class will take place.
Time
Enter the time for the class.
Start Date
Lessons are automatically created for the entire semester. The 'Start Date' can be used if you want lessons to be created starting at a later date.
- For example, if the semester starts January 1st, but this class only starts on March 1st, enter March 1st as the start date.
Count
Lessons are automatically created for the entire semester. The 'Count' can be used if you want to limit the total amount of lessons to a specific number.
- For example, if the class is on Tuesday, and there are 15 Tuesdays in the semester, but you only want to generate 10 lessons, enter 10 for the count.
Generate Lessons
When creating a class for the first time, the system will generate the lessons for the entire semester date range.
- You will not see the 'Generate Lessons' toggle when creating the class for the first time.
- If you need to change the schedule after lessons were already generated, toggle on the 'Generate Lessons' toggle, to regenerate the lessons.
- Lessons that took place, i.e. they contain some data, will not be deleted and replaced with the new scheduled lessons. Only lessons without any data will be deleted and replaced with the newly scheduled lessons.
- The system assumes that a lesson took place once some attendance was taken for it. Otherwise, it will assume it did not take place.
Grading Section
This section allows you to specify some grading related details.
- For more information on the grading options, see the appropriate help tutorial.
