How to cancel, reactivate, or delete a single lesson

Lessons may need to be canceled from time to time for various reasons.  

• Please note: that it is possible to cancel or delete a lesson that already took place, and if attendance was taken for that lesson, that data will be lost, and this cannot be undone.
• When lessons are cancelled they will not be used in the grade calculation, but will still appear on the calendar and in the lessons page, but the will appear in red, indicating that they were canceled.
• When lessons are deleted, it will be remove completely from the system. 
• If a class is being substituted by another teacher, the lesson should not be canceled, but rather marked as substituted by another teacher.

• If you want to schedule an event that will take place during a lesson, when creating the event you will have the option to either delete the lesson or leave the lesson scheduled but change its status to "optional attendance", but you cannot mark the lesson cancelled.

You can cancel a lesson from two places:

Option 1: From the Calendar

Step 1: Navigate to the lesson and select it.

Step 2: Then select "Edit Lesson" from the pop-up message.  

Option 2: From the Lessons Page

Step 1: Select the class from the appropriate year and semester.

Step 2: Select the "Lessons" submenu.

Step 3: Find the lesson from the list and select the pen icon to edit the lesson. 

Both methods will bring you to the lesson's edit page.  

To cancel the lesson:  

Select "Cancel Lesson" to mark the lesson as canceled.

• You will then be taken to the lessons list page, where you will see that the lesson icon for that lesson is now red, indicating that it has been canceled.  The lesson will also appear in red on the Calendar.

To reactivate a canceled lesson:

Select "Activate Lesson" to reactivate the lesson.  

• The lesson will no longer appear in red in the system.

To delete a lesson:

Select Delete from the action menu.  This action cannot be undone.
